Whenever I'm
about to do a new album, I tend to write a lot of new songs. Partly because
planning a new album always inspires me, partly because I'm lazy... so unless I'm about to do a new album, I rarely finish any new songs. Look No Further was an exception to the rule, though, as I'd had it sitting around for quite a few years before finally recording it. It has a pretty basic Buddy Holly-ish, rockabilly feel, and it's fun to play live. -Steve H. |
1. You tell me that you're looking
for a lifetime love
You've been waitin' and prayin' to
the heavens above
Well, baby / I'm the one that you
need
You say you've been searchin' for
somebody who
Is gonna give his all to you
Well, I don't mean maybe / that's
guaranteed
chorus: So honey, look no further
/ keep lookin' at me
Love is the answer / give it a chance
/ and love is gonna set you free
Honey, look no further / this was
meant to be
Look no further / you've found perfect
love with me
2. You say you want to marry and settle
down
You've been lookin' for a man to
build a life around
But it's never / quite worked out
Well, I've got the arms you've been
dreamin' of
A little bit of money, but a lot
of love
And forever / is what I'm talkin'
about
repeat chorus
3. You say you been lookin' for a
true-blue friend
Someone to stand by you through thick
and thin
Through the laughter / and through
the tears
A man who's gonna kiss you and hold
you tight
And always be there in the middle
of the night
Well, darlin' / he's standin' right
here
repeat chorus.
"Look No
Further" appears on the Steve Haggard CD,
